Spending limits help you control how much can be spent with each card, protecting your company from unauthorized transactions.

Approved: $30,000 purchase ✅
Declined: $75,000 purchase ❌
📅 Periodic limits
Daily limit
How much can be spent per day (resets at midnight).

First purchase: $60,000 ✅
Second purchase: $30,000 ✅
Third purchase: $20,000 ❌ (exceeds the daily limit)
Weekly limit
Maximum spend allowed over 7 days (Monday to Sunday).
Monthly limit
Total monthly budget (resets on the 1st of each month).
How to configure limits
When creating a new card:
You’ll see fields for each type of limit during the creation flow.
Enter the amounts you want to set.
You can leave fields blank if you don’t want that specific limit.
Click “Create card.”
On an existing card:
Select the card from your list.
Click “Settings” or the gear icon.
Edit the limits as needed.
Save your changes.
What happens if a limit is exceeded?
⚠️ The transaction will be automatically declined if it exceeds any of the configured limits.
The cardholder will receive a message indicating that the purchase was declined due to a spending limit.
Best practices
Recommended:
Set realistic limits based on expected usage.
Use monthly limits for department-level budgets.
Set per-transaction limits to prevent fraud.
Review and adjust limits regularly.
Avoid:
Limits that are too low and interrupt normal operations.
Leaving all cards without limits.
Forgetting to update limits as needs change.
