What are Card Programs?
Card Programs are the "plans" or "programs" you define to assign balance to your team members' cards. For example: $100 USD monthly as a flexible benefit, or $50 USD one-time for a birthday.
Who can create Card Programs?
Account administrators only.
Components of a Card Program:
Monto: The USD amount to be assigned
Frecuencia: Whether it renews monthly or is one-time
Categorías permitidas: Usage restrictions (optional)
How to access Card Programs
In the left sidebar menu, click on "Cards"
Select "Programs"
You'll see a list of all your active programs with the following information:
Name (program name)
Limit (assigned amount)
Frequency (renewal frequency)
Categories allowed (permitted categories)
Create a new Card Program
Step 1: Start creation
Click the "Create new program" button (upper right corner)
Step 2: Define the details
Name:
Give it a descriptive name to help you identify it easily
This name is internal (only you see it)
Examples: "Birthday $50", "Monthly Flexible Benefit", "1 Year Anniversary"
Icon:
Select an icon from the dropdown
It's optional and only helps visually
Step 3: Configure card settings
Currency:
Default: USD
(Currently only USD is available)
Card limit (Amount):
Enter the amount in USD you want to assign
Example: $100.00
Frequency: ⚠️ VERY IMPORTANT
You have 2 options:
Opción | When to use: | What happens: |
Monthly | For recurring benefits | Amount automatically renews each month |
One time | For gifts or one-time bonuses | Amount is assigned once and does not renew |
Daily | For daily benefits or budgets (for example, per diems or daily expenses) | The amount is automatically renewed every day |
Annual | For annual bonuses | The amount is renewed once per year |
💡Examples:
Monthly wellness benefit → Monthly
Birthday gift → One time
Anniversary bonus → One time
Step 4: Select allowed categories
You can restrict where the balance from this program can be used:
- Option 1: No restrictions
✅ All Categories (checked by default)
Team member can use the balance at any merchant
- Option 2: Specific categories
Uncheck "All Categories" and select only the ones you want to allow:

"Wellness" program → Only Gyms & Wellness
"Food" program → Only Food & Groceries
"Flexible Benefit" program → All Categories
⚠️ Can't find a category you need? Contact your KAM to request it from the product team.
Step 5: Create the program
Click "Create card program"
✅ The program will be immediately available to assign to team members.

Important points:
📝 You can create as many programs as you need based on the different benefits you want to offer.
🔄 Monthly vs One time: If you leave "Monthly" as default for a gift that should be one-time, that amount will automatically renew every month. Review carefully before creating!
✏️ Can I edit a program after creating it? Yes you can! here is how to do it.
🗑️ Can I delete a program? This functionality will be added soon. For now, you must request it via chat or at clientes@heyatlas.com.

A: There's no limit. You can create as many programs as you need for your benefits strategy.
Q: Do team members see the program name?
A: No, the name is only for your internal organization. Team members only see the amount and allowed categories.
Q: Can I assign multiple programs to the same team member?
A: Yes, a team member can have multiple programs assigned (e.g., monthly flexible benefit + birthday bonus).
Q: If I select "Monthly", when does the balance renew?
A: Unused balances roll over month to month.
Q: What happens to unused balance in "Monthly" programs?
A: (Confirm with product team whether it accumulates or is lost)
Q: Can I change the frequency of a program after assigning it?
A: Yes. You can change the Card Program assigned to a person at any time.
If you need a different frequency, you have two options:Assign a different Card Program with another renewal frequency, or
Create a custom configuration with the renewal frequency you need.
